In 2006, I was in a car accident which resulted in chronic pain, whiplash, and daily migraines. Yes, DAILY migraines ... for an entire year!! I sought treatment through massage therapy, chiropractic care, yoga, acupuncture, physical therapy, medical doctors, medication, and too many "self-experimentation" treatments than I can count. All of these provided temporary relief, but no lasting results. Thirteen years later, I continued to battle intense migraines, although less frequent, always with the same origination - a pain in my neck!
I have a real understanding of how massage and other manual therapies can drastically improve conditions such as mine, and how hands-on treatment can feel like a lifesaver in times of desperation! I have great results in my massage practice, but I find that the results just do not seem to last longterm for the majority of people ... just as I was experiencing in my own struggle. We are creatures of habit and repetition so our daily lives often keep us in dysfunctional patterns and pain.
I had this book on my office shelf for several years, called The MELT Method. I had intended on reading it for quite some time, but set it aside and honestly just forgot about it. One Fall day in 2019, for one reason or another, it caught my attention and I started reading. And reading! As I read, I practiced the moves on myself ... and BIG changes started happening! I knew this was something huge for me personally, I was beyond excited. I was finally beginning to feel improvements that actually stuck!
I needed to learn more! If I was getting results without even knowing what I was doing technically, I figured it could only get better with more knowledge. PLUS, I knew this was something that I needed to teach anyone who was willing to learn. Soon after, I traveled to Florida to attend my first certification training and was taught this incredible technique under the direct instruction of the creator of the MELT Method, Sue Hitzmann. I have been a MELT fanatic ever since.
From the moment I implemented MELT into my personal care, my migraine episodes have significantly improved and I am without the nagging, daily pain! FINALLY!! This very unique approach targets the body at the root of the problem - the connective tissue and nervous systems, creating longterm changes and lasting relief!!
